Danby Gathery Art Works

Nancy learned soft pastel painting during COVID by watching videos by several well-known pastel artists.  She fell in love with the medium- it was colorful & forgiving, which allowed her to paint the natural beauty of our region's landscapes and flowers.

After a few years of painting, she was ready to show her body of work she had created but found it difficult to find a space for her work.  She and her husband had renovated the old Danby Market several years ago, and it seemed like the perfect place to open a gallery.  Since she was having a hard time finding wall space she figured other artists were in the same position so she decided to open up the Danby Gathery Art Works to other local artists and craftspeople.

Nancy has also has a lifelong passion for 19 Century antiques so she decided offer furniture and kitchen collectibles in the space.  Antiques and contemporary art are a natural mix as both exhibit quality of design and craftsmanship.
